Why are you amazed and ask yourselves, filled with jealousy and envy, “Why are some the chosen ones”?
To you who judge and demand answers, I say: you would be exalted not for the love of God, but for the love of yourselves, putting yourselves in the place of the One who is irreplaceable.
Those kissed by God are those who live the chaste, mortified, loving life of a servant of God. Those who lose themselves in the light, which is God, with hearts full of faith and the spirit of charity, seeking from Me the Truth and knowledge. Not forceful, not overbearing, they receive what I give in simplicity, in love, in honesty. And do not think that, while it is true that God can accept your desire to feel Him as a Father, it is also true that no one—I say no one, not even a saint—can impose themselves on God and say to Him: “Come. I command you”? I come when, where, and how I will, at the hour and in the setting I choose. I speak to you as much as I wish. And between the simplicity that is my sign and the simple humility that is the sign of my servants. Listen, my creatures, and you will hear: on this side is God and his true truth. On the other side is Satan and his error. For here my hand is outstretched in blessing over the humble flowers that receive my light, blessing me and judging themselves unworthy of it. Over there, my hand is outstretched to curse, for they are poisonous flowers. Remember that, just as the wise man will live by his wisdom, the foolish man will die by his folly.
Your Jesus.
Commentary on the message:
Jesus’ logic is not that of man. He favors the humble, those who worship Him with the three virtues of religion: faith, hope, and charity.
Being servants of God requires, on our part, simplicity, honesty, chastity, and mortification. Jesus, moreover, reminds us that He is Lord of time and space; for this reason, He speaks when and where He wills, confounding the minds of all those who wish to confine Him within predetermined frameworks.
Jesus is subject to no law; He is above all things and all people.
We must decide which side to take: among the humble, fragrant flowers, or among the poisonous ones.
