The world and the spirit of the age despise holiness

Apparition of Saint Charbel

I see Saint Charbel floating before us in a beautiful light. He is accompanied by Saint Rafka, who also appears in a beautiful light; as well as by a nun holding a large bouquet of red roses in her hands. She is Saint Rita, whose feast day we celebrate today, and I now see a wound on her forehead. The two women nod their heads at us and smile. Saint Charbel speaks:

“In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Look to Jesus! Through His great sacrifice of love on the cross, which He made for you, Pentecost—the outpouring of the Holy Spirit—has become possible, and time and again the Holy Spirit, this Spirit of truth, pours out upon you when you ask for it from your heart. Do you actually know what Jesus did for you? No one has ever made a greater sacrifice of love, and look how many saints have followed Him! May they be your compass in life toward the Lord. Love sanctifies, and sin leads to ruin. This has always been so and will remain so. Look to the saints; they have walked the path to Jesus, which you too can walk. The Lord does not close His heart to you when you turn to Him. What matters is not how you lived before you came to know Him—what matters is your conversion to Jesus! Look upon Him in humility, He who has done so much for you, and make time for Him, for He gave His life for you. Holiness is not impossible, for look how many saints there are who can show you the way. The world and the spirit of the age despise holiness, for both celebrate ruin. These sisters have walked the path of holiness with me. The number of unknown Christian martyrs is very great. Through their blood, the Church is purified. Pray for peace, pray for the Christians in Lebanon. Pray for the Middle East! Do not listen to the call of the powerful; listen to the call of the Lord! We will take your concerns before the throne of the Lord.”

Saint Charbel takes his leave with the two holy nuns and says he will bless us later with the priest.
