God the Father:

I am not happy with the sinfulness and disobedience of my creation. Human sins, wickedness, pride, and rebellion provoke My anger. My Divine Justice demands punishments for My children who have embraced evil and for godless nations. Many will suffer much and tremble with what they have brought through their sinful rebellion. Divine Justice is part of My created order and under My Mercy and Divine Justice. I have complete authority to form the light and create darkness; I bring prosperity and administer justice.

I bring darkness for purposes of judgment, revelation, and to show a decisive moment in My redemptive plan. It is a tool I use to achieve My Will. I do not desire to punish and chastise My creation. In the last days, I am allowing tribulation upon mankind before My Son Jesus’s return. The world will panic when the sun is darkened and the moon will not shed its light. Stars will fall immediately after the tribulation, and I will send celestial signs of My judgment and the end of the age. Darkness shall cover the earth and My Glory shall be seen by all my creatures. Darkness will come first so My Glory will be revealed. 

The ongoing war between My Kingdom of Light and Satan’s Kingdom of Darkness will come to an end. The darkness before the Second Coming of My son will bring a spiritual blindness, chaos, and rebellion of the world under Satan’s influence. My Glory and Divine presence of grace will break all evil in the hearts of My children. Mankind will witness My Son’s message, and the Kingdom of Light will expand until His return. The Kingdom of Darkness will be destroyed 

It is a time of testing. I ask the elect to stand firm in the light of Jesus while the world is in spiritual darkness. It is not a punishment that I am sending in these days of shadows but My Mercy that I am allowing for these times. The darkness before the Coming of My Son is not accidental. It is a deliberate act of My love for the faithful for the fulfillment of all prophecy. I am revealing the celestial conflict and preparing for His glory to shine on His people when He returns. Be alert and stay awake! Prepare yourself for holiness. I am with you and I seek your love and your embrace.

Private Revelation

The Three Days of Darkness is a private Catholic revelation prophecy describing a period of intense darkness over the earth, during which the faithful are called to prayer and spiritual preparation while the wicked face divine judgment.

The prophecy, most famously associated with Blessed Anna Maria Taigi (1768–1837), predicts that the earth will be enveloped in complete darkness for three days and nights, during which ordinary light sources will fail, and only blessed candles will provide illumination. The air is said to be filled with pestilence and demons appearing in hideous forms, and those who venture outside or look out windows will perish. The faithful are instructed to remain indoors, pray the Rosary, and seek God’s mercy during this time, while the enemies of the Church will be punished, with a few exceptions whom God will convert.

Three days of darkness will touch the whole world. The Book of Revelation tells us that they are contained in one of the seven bowls which will be poured out on the earth by the angels: “And the fifth emptied his bowl on the throne of the Beast and darkness filled its kingdom” (Apoc. 16:10). Many mystics and visionaries confirmed their coming. The first in history to foretell them was Blessed Anna Maria Taigi – Anna Maria Gianetti (1769-1837), Italian mystic and visionary:

“Impenetrable darkness will descend on the whole world that will last three days and three nights. Nothing will be visible and the air will be plagued with disease that will primarily but not exclusively affect the enemies of religion. During this darkness, no method of lighting invented by man will be usable – only candles that have been blessed. Anyone who opens his window or leaves his home out of curiosity will fall dead on the spot. During these three days, people ought to stay in their homes, pray the Rosary and beg God for mercy.

All enemies of the Church, those known and those not known, will perish during this universal darkness, except a handful whom God will shortly convert. The air will be full of demons which will manifest in various hideous forms.”

My personal experience and vision:
In the early eighties, there were many rumors around the Three Days of Darkness. There were many uninformed Catholics giving talks and showing slides of Padre Pio and the Three Days of Darkness--- resulting in a lot of fear and confusion. This took place at the beginning of our ministry. People would come to me with questions, and I did not have any answers as all of this was new to me. Many believed and suffered the consequences of these erroneous views. 

I prayed and sought discernment and direction from God. I asked if these events were real and part of God’s plan for the end times. People were buying candles, praying the Rosary, going to Holy Mass, Confession and receiving the Sacraments. Many were covering their window with black sheets, getting holy water and salt and many other religious medals and sacramentals. What everyone was doing seemed (and was good) as it was bringing people closer to God and the church. 

Some well-meaning Catholics were selling their homes, giving away their money and even dipping into their life savings. After 5 years nothing happened, and some individuals became discouraged and angry by what they considered mistaken direction. Some left the Catholic church and turned away from God. Satan was using something that had been prophesied by many saints and turned it into an ugly and deceptive event. 

Four Years later:
I was given a vision in a dream

In my vision, I saw myself in my home and I heard a lot of horrific screaming outside my home. Everything inside the home was rattling and shaking. I had built an altar for prayer and had also had my home blessed. We had several Bee-wax candles throughout our home which had been blessed and were now lit. The presence of God’s holy angels was inside our home as all my family was praying the Rosary. We heard banging on the doors and windows and could smell an ugly odor of sulfur outside our home. Pestilence and demons appeared in hideous forms. We heard the voices of family members and familiar voices of our friends asking us to open the doors but we knew better. There was much fear inside our home, but our prayers brought peace and harmony. This continuous howling and demonic cries for help outside would not stop. It was very frightening. 

It was very difficult to tell the time and season. It seemed as if time had stopped. It was freezing cold outside, and we could feel the coldness through the windows. All our family had thick blankets covering them as we continued to pray and praise God. Almost no one could sleep. Our faith and trust were in our faithfulness and trust with God. After a long period of time, everything stopped. After a few hours of peacefulness outside, I opened the front door and saw almost every home in our neighborhood had been burned and turned into ashes. I was completely overwhelmed as I spotted several homes on the horizon that were still intact and were completely whole and not damaged or demolished.

As I went outside, in front of our door, I noticed a burned tree trunk about 2 feet off the ground. I didn’t know what to think. Then a calm came upon me as I saw the small green growth of a live branch starting to grow from the tree trunk. I looked up and the sky had the most beautiful color of blue, and the clouds had a celestial color of white in harmony with a new creation. 

As I continued to look up, I saw several angels spreading seeds of love upon the earth. As the seeds touched the ground, nature started to grow the most beautiful and holy presence of a new paradise. I asked my family to all come out and see the gift that was being given to us by God. 

Then… I WOKE UP. 

Today: I believe the Three Days of darkness is a true event that will take place after the tribulation and before the Second Coming. When will it take place? I don’t know. 

Catholic Mystical Sources and Saints

Other mystics and saints have echoed similar warnings:

• Marie-Julie Jahenny (1850–1941) emphasized that only 100% beeswax candles would work during the event
• St. Mary of Jesus Crucified: described the event as a purification preceding the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
• The prophecies of Garabandal also mention a “Great Warning” preceding the darkness, offering a final opportunity for repentance 

Catholic Church Perspective

The Catholic Church does not officially endorse or recognize the Three Days of Darkness as a public revelation. It is considered a private revelation, meaning believers may reflect on it but are not required to believe it. The Church emphasizes discernment, prayer, and testing private revelations against Scripture, noting that such prophecies should inspire faith, repentance, and moral vigilance rather than fear 

Preparation Guidance

Catholics who take the prophecy seriously are encouraged to:

• Keep blessed candles ready.
• Pray the Rosary and other devotions.
• Consecrate their homes with holy water and sacramentals.
• Maintain a life of faith, repentance, and spiritual readiness 

Biblical Parallels

While the Bible does not explicitly mention three days of darkness as an end-times event, parallels are drawn from:

• Exodus 10:21–23, where Egypt experienced three days of darkness during the plagues.
• Revelation 6:12 and 16:10, which describe darkness and the sun being obscured, though not specifying three days 
• The prophecy serves as a call to deepen one’s spiritual life, emphasizing vigilance, prayer, and moral integrity in anticipation of divine purification and eventual triumph of good over evil.

One of the most famous quotations about this event is attributed to the Italian mystic Bl. Anna Maria Taigi (1768-1837). She is said to have stated,

“There shall come over the whole earth an intense darkness lasting three days and three nights. Nothing can be seen, and the air will be laden with pestilence which will claim mainly, but not only, the enemies of religion. It will be impossible to use any man-made lighting during this darkness, except blessed candles. He, who out of curiosity, opens his window to look out, or leaves his home, will fall dead on the spot. During these three days, people should remain in their homes, pray the rosary, and beg God for mercy. All the enemies of the Church, whether known or unknown, will perish over the whole earth during that universal darkness, with the exception of a few whom God will soon convert. The air shall be infected by demons who will appear under all sorts of hideous forms.”

Another mystic—Marie-Julie Jahenny (1850-1941)—is said to have claimed that only 100-percent beewax candles will work. This has led to people selling pure beeswax candles to Catholic households for use during the event.

Some Catholics have been very concerned about this event, because if it were to occur as described, it would be terrifying.

Padre Pio hoax: In the late 1940s, the name of Saint Padre Pio (1887–1968) was attached to a letter endorsing the Three Days of Darkness; but the letter was in fact written by the "Council of Heroldsbach," a religious cult in Germany later outlawed by the Vatican.[5]. Since 1950, the Saint Padre Pio forgery has been repeatedly denounced by both the Capuchin order and the Archdiocese of Bamberg.
